Sir William Gerald Golding (19.9. 1911 – 19.6. 1993) bio je britanski romanopisac, pjesnik i dobitnik Nobelove nagrade za književnost najpoznatiji po svom romanu Gospodar muha. Također je dobio Booker Prize godine 1980. za roman Rites of Passage, prvi u trilogiji To the Ends of the Earth.
