Karlakton sintaza (EC 1.13.11.69, CCD8 (gen), MAX4 (gen), NCED8 (gen)) je enzim sa sistematskim imenom 9-cis-10'-apo-beta-karotenal:O2 oksidoreduktaza (14,15-razlaganje, karlakton).[1][2][3] Ovaj enzim katalizuje sledeću hemijsku reakciju
- 9-cis-10'-apo-beta-karotenal + 2 O2 karlakton + (2E,4E,6E)-7-hidroksi-4-metilhepta-2,4,6-trienal
Ovaj enzim sadrži Fe2+. On učestvuje u biosintezi strigolaktona, biljnih hormona.
