Klaudije Ptolomej (grčki: Κλαύδιος Πτολεμαῖος, latinski: Claudius Ptolomaeus) - grčko-rimski astronom, geograf i matematičar iz Aleksandrije. Živio je u prvom i drugom vijeku nove ere. Sastavio djelo "Veliki zbornik astronomije". Utemeljitelj je geocentrične teorije prema kojoj se sva nebeska tijela okrecu oko zemlje. Teorija je bila važeća više od 1400 godina sve do usvajanja Kopernikove heliocentrične teorije. "Veliki zbornik astronomije" je ostao sacuvan u arapskom prevodu na istoku. Kasnije je preveden na zapadu pod latinizovanim imenom "Almagest".
