Regulator G-proteinske signalizacije 8 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran RGS8genom.[1][2]
Ovaj gen je član familje regulatora G proteinske signalizacije (RGS). On kodira protein sa jednim RGS domenom. Regulatori G proteinske signalizacije (RGS) su regulatorne i strukturne komponente G protein spregnutih receptorskih kompleksa. Oni ubrzavaju prenos kroz ciklus GTP vezivanja i hidrolize do GDP, čime završavaju prenos signala, mada paradoksalno, isto tako ubrzavaju receptorom stimulisanu aktivaciju.[2]
