Supersila je izraz koji se koristi za državu koja se ističe svojom moći i uticajem na međunarodne odnose, odnosno sposobnošću da vojnim, ekonomskim ili drugim putem projicira tu moć svuda ili u najvećem dijelu svijeta. Izraz se pojavio za vrijeme drugog svjetskog rata kako bi označio novi fenomen međunarodne politike, odnosno države kao SAD i SSSR čiji se uticaj na tadašnji svijet nije mogao mjeriti s prethodnim državama u historiji. Izraz supersila se otada tradicionalno koristi države čija je moć i uticaj vidno veći od nekadašnjih velesila.
Usprkos toga, historičari ponekad u opisne svrhe koriste izraz "supersila" za određene historijske entitete, pa se tako npr. egipatsko Novo kraljevstvo opisuje kao "supersila Drevnog Bliskog istoka", a Rimsko Carstvo kao "supersila antičkog Mediterana".
Za supersile koje same dominiraju ostatkom svijeta ili sebi poznatog svijeta se ponekad koristi izraz hipersila.
