Morski narodi (nȝ ḫȝt.w n pȝ ym)
na hijeroglifima

Morski narodi je izraz koji se koristi za konfederaciju pomorskih pljačkaša koji su plovili duž istočnih obala Mediterana, izazivali političku nestabilnost te pokušali opljačkati ili osvojiti egipatsku teritoriju pred kraj 19. dinastija, a posebno u osmoj godini vladavine faraona Ramzesa III iz 20. dinastije.[1] Egipatski faraon Merneptah ih izričito navodi kao "strane zemlje (ili 'narode'[2]) zemlja" (egipatski nȝ ḫȝt.w n pȝ ym[3][4]) u svom Velikom zapisu Karnaka.[5] Iako neki naučnici vjeruju da su "napali" Cipar, Hatti i Levant, ta je hipoteza predmet rasprave.[6]

    ḫȝty.w "strani-narodi"; oba izraza se mogu koristiti za koncept "stranaca". Zangger spominje stav kako "morski narodi" nisu ispravan naziv, nego akademska inovacija. Dizertacija Woudhuizen i rad Morrisa navode Gastona Maspera koji je prvi koristio izraz "peuples de la mer" godine 1881.
