Clarence Brown (10. maj 1890 – 17. august 1987) bio je američki filmski režiser, najpoznatiji po uspješnim melodramama napravljenim u Hollywoodu 1930-ih.

Brown je u mladosti bio fasciniran automobilima i diplomirao je strojarstvo. Međutim, 1913. je napustio struku kako bi se pridružio filmskom studiju Peerless u Fort Leeju gdje mu je mentor bio rani francuski sineast Maurice Tourneur. Nakon vojne službe u prvom svjetskom ratu je pažnju privukao sa filmom The Last of the Mohicans godine 1920. Godine 1924. se priključio novostvorenom hollywoodskom studiju MGM gdje je postigao svoje najveće uspjehe. Bez problema je prošao tranziciju sa nijemog na zvučni film, a što se pripisuje njegovoj reputaciji "glumačkog režisera", odnosno sposobnosti da ostvari najbolju moguću suradnju sa glumcima. MGM mu je stoga povjeravao neke od svojih najprestižnijih projekata vezanih uz svoje najveće zvijezde kao što su Greta Garbo. Brown se nakon uspješne karijere povukao sa filma početkom 1950-ih, a dotada je stekao veliko bogatstvo paralelnom karijerom trgovca nekretninama. Poslije je tvrdio da odbija gledati nove filmove jer se boji da bi se mogao vratiti režiji.

Brown je također poznat po velikom broju nominacija za Oscar za najbolju režiju, od kojih nije dobio nijedan.
