Percy Marks
Percy Marks (9. septembar 1891 - 27. decembar 1956) bio je američki književnik i univerzitetski profesor, najpoznatiji kao autor bestseler-romana The Plastic Age. Diplomirao je na Berkeleyu 1912. godine, a magistrirao na Harvardu, otpočevši karijeru nastavnika engleskog jezika na nizu američkih univerziteta kao što su Dartmouth College i Brown University; nju je nakratko prekinula služba u Vojska SAD u prvom svjetskom ratu. The Plastic Age je objavio 1924. godine; roman, u kome je na realističan način opisan život tadašnjih američkih studenata, je izazvao senzaciju, te usprkos zabrane u nekim dijelovima SAD postao bestseler. Sljedeće godine je po njemu snimljen uspješni film koji je učinio zvijezdu od Clare Bow. Marks se 1925. povukao sa univerziteta kako bi se u potpunosti posvetio pisanju. Godine 1927. se oženio za Margret Ellen Gates s kojom će imati kćer Sally Jean Marks,[1][2] koja je kasnije postala profesorica međunarodnih odnosa na Rhode Island Collegeu.[3]
