Metilglioksalna sintaza (EC 4.2.3.3, metilglioksalna sintetaza, gliceron-fosfatna fosfo-lijaza) je enzim sa sistematskim imenom gliceron-fosfat fosfat-lijaza (formira metilglioksal).[1][2][3] Ovaj enzim katalizuje sledeću hemijsku reakciju
- gliceron fosfat metilglioksal + fosfat
Ovaj enzim ne deluje na D-gliceraldehid 3-fosfat.
