Holesterol 25-hidroksilaza (EC 1.14.99.38, holesterolna 25-monooksigenaza) je enzim sa sistematskim imenom holesterol,vodonik-donor:kiseonik oksidoreduktaza (25-hidroksilacija).[1][2][3][4][5] Ovaj enzim katalizuje sledeću hemijsku reakciju:
- holesterol + AH2 + O2 25-hidroksiholesterol + A + H2O
Za razliku od većine drugih sterolnih hidroksilaza, ovaj enzim nije citohrom P-450. On koristi kofaktore sa dva atoma gvožđa da katalizuje hidroksilaciju hidrofobnih supstrata.
