Istorija predmeta
Deutsch: Der Stadt Herzogenrath ist zuletzt mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten vom 10.05.1973 das Recht zur Führung des von Josef Esser entworfenen Wappens verliehen worden. Es zeigt den Limburger Löwen. Der in der zweiten Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts mit Stadtrechten versehene Ort gehörte bis 1793 zum Herzogtum Limburg.
English: The arms show the lion of the Counts (later Dukes) of Limburg, who granted the city rights in the 2nd half of the 13th century. The first seal from around 1280 already shows the lion, as do all later seals of the city. In 1919 and on May 10, 1973 the arms were confirmed, but without the crown of the arms of Limburg.
