2-Metilcitrat sintaza (EC 2.3.3.5, 2-metilcitrat oksaloacetatna lijaza, MCS, metilcitratna sintaza, metilcitratna sintetaza) je enzim sa sistematskim imenom propanoil-KoA:oksaloacetat C-propanoiltransferaza (tioestarska hidroliza, formiranje 1-karboksietila).[1][2][3][4] Ovaj enzim katalizuje sledeću hemijsku reakciju
- propanoil-KoA + H2O + oksaloacetat (2R,3S)-2-hidroksibutan-1,2,3-trikarboksilat + KoA
Ovaj enzim deluje na acetil-KoA, propanoil-KoA, butanoil-KoA i pentanoil-KoA.
