Pirimidin oksigenaza (EC 1.14.99.46, RUTA) je enzim sa sistematskim imenom uracil,FMNH2:kiseonik oksidoreduktaza (uracilna hidroksilacija, otvaranje prstena).[1][2] Ovaj enzim katalizuje sledeću hemijsku reakciju
- (1) uracil + FMNH2 + O2 (Z)-3-ureidoakrilatna perkiselina + FMN
- (2) timin + FMNH2 + O2 (Z)-2-metilureidoakrilatna perkiselina + FMN
In vitro se produkt (Z)-3-ureidoakrilat perkiselina spontano redukuje do ureidoakrilata.
