Nathanael West

Nathanael West (17.10. 1903 – 22.12. 1940.) je bio pseudonim koji je koristio američki pisac, scenarist i satiričar Nathan Wallenstein Weinstein.

Rodio se u New Yorku u porodici ruskih Židova, a nakon studija obavljao poslove za građevinsku tvrtku svog oca. Početkom 1930-ih se posvetio spisateljskoj karijeri, a potom otišao u Hollywood pisati scenarije za B-filmove. Njegova iskustva su poslužila za roman Miss Lonelyhearts te Day of the Locust, koji se smatra jednim od najboljih prikaza Hollywooda 1930-ih. Poginuo je u prometnoj nesreći zajedno sa suprugom Eileen McKenney.
